About The Position
Old Mission is a quantitative proprietary trading firm and is currently recruiting a Fundamental Analyst to join our Chicago office. This research analyst will be responsible for conducting economic and company-specific research and analysis and will work with the team to discover new trading opportunities for the firm. We value idea generation over reporting. We are looking for someone who can stay up to the minute with breaking market events, use fundamental principles to interpret them quantitatively, and help influence trading decisions.
Responsibilities
- Identify and analyze financial/events/information that will have an impact on our trading group(s)
- Support traders by being the sole point of contact for conducting quantitative and macroeconomic research
- Analyze datasets to identify their potential impact of the price of certain securities
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis on information that could affect trading decisions
- Collaborate directly with traders by providing them with the fundamental overlay necessary to do many things, including developing tools, analyzing market data, and testing strategies
Required Skills
- Qualified candidates MUST have at least a Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field & and extensive knowledge of securities analysis
- 1-5 years of experience of relevant analyst experience, such as research or investment banking
- The ability to think quantitatively, and to analyze and communicate clearly in a time-sensitive trading environment
- Must be proficient conducting research across domestic and international financial markets
- The ability to multitask across many different projects, securities, and asset classes
- Programming experience preferred
