ABOUT THIS ROLE
PEAK6 Capital Management is seeking an experienced Director, Risk to join our team in our Chicago Headquarters. In this role, you will lead our risk management function, collaborating with cross-functional teams across the firm to ensure the identification, analysis, and mitigation of risks across our trading activities. You will develop and implement strategies to improve our risk management framework and enhance the effectiveness of our risk controls. You will also be responsible for managing a team of risk professionals.
What you'll do:
- Oversee the implementation and optimization of risk management strategies, leveraging industry best practices and innovative approaches to improve the effectiveness of our risk controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Portfolio and Trading Managers, CEO, and firm leadership to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks across all trading activities.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures for risk management, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Manage a team of risk professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to support their growth and development.
- Manage the firm’s execution limits to allow the firm to maximize market opportunity while protecting against significant execution error and financial impact
- Own risk management theories and best practices; providing guidance and expertise to the trading organization and cross-functional teams.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics; Master's degree or CFA preferred.
- 10+ years of experience within the financial services industry, with a focus on options trading and derivatives.
- In-depth knowledge of options trading and risk management theories, including volatility, delta hedging, and portfolio management including risk identification and mitigation
- Strong understanding of financial markets and regulatory requirements related to risk management.
- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team of risk professionals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.

The base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and office location.
